October 21, 2021 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

To commemorate the 58th anniversary of the historic March on Washington and Dr. King’s
“I Have A Dream” Speech through this special event

Using Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s notion of the “Beloved Community” as a lens through which to examine the idea of heritage sites, museums and cultural centers as Centers of “Social Justice” in communities, this conversation is prompted by

the new Secretary of the Smithsonian Institution, Lonnie Bunch’s statement, “the role of cultural institutions is to make people “feel comfortable with nuance and complexity.”
