Historic Chickasaw leader honored in third annual wreath-laying ceremony

TUPELO — For the third year, the contributions of a local Chickasaw leader to American history were recognized in downtown Tupelo. On Monday, Tupelo residents, local officials and members of the Chickasaw Nation honored historic Chickasaw leader Piominko by laying a wreath at his statue at Fairpark. The short ceremony was held in honor of Piominko Day.
